The Chapter Library



The chapter library includes about 15,000 volumes – that is about the equivalent of 460 linear metres of historical book art.

The printed books include over 450 so-called “incunables” – also known as cradle books – in other words, books from the early period of book printing.

The the inventory of the chapter library can be researched in various ways:

Our collection of valuable manuscripts is a part of the chapter archive. We have assembled inventories from the archive and the photo gallery of manuscripts and deeds.

Open guided tour

The Chapter Museum offers an open guided tour every Sunday at 2.30pm. (During the summer season April to September)

The tour takes about an hour. Solely the usual admission charge for the museum has to be paid. The guided tour itself is for free!
