The Xanten Chapter Museum is located directly behind the Cathedral. There are two entrances: from the street "Kapitel" or at ground level via the museum courtyard. You can access the courtyard either via the Cathedral through the cloister or from the west passing through the large courtyard gate next to the Cathedral.

A visit to the Xanten Cathedral can be combined with a visit to the Chapter Museum. Questions that may arise during the course of the Cathedral tour are answered in the Chapter Museum.

There are many roads that lead to the Chapter Museum!

Self-guided Audio Tour

Our electronic audio guides will accompany the visitors on their tour through the museum. 30 different audio pieces will provide you with informations and assist you in understanding the presented works of art.

The use of the audio guides is very simple. They are available in German, English, Dutch and French. There are extra audio guides for children (unfortunately only available in German)

Rental fee: 2€
